Sun

Hi,

I'm going to Turkey on Friday, and I just want to know some things.

Last year when I went, the sun completely brought out everything, my face was covered in spots. Since then, I have been through a course of roaccutane, and I get the odd spot now and then which is small and goes away easily. I am just wondering if the sun now would be good for my skin? Or would it be bad. Good in terms of drying out the (?) so i get spots less frequently or anything else that it might be good for.

Also, what kind of sunscreen should I use? I don't want to use anything that will break me out.

Appreciate help!

Hello,

I find that the suncream and heat/sweat can make my acne worse at first, but by the end of the holiday and the week or two afterwarRAB I see an improvement. The sun itself I think is beneficial - drying out spots and giving vitamin d. Im careful to wash my face properly each evening and apply moisturiser for greasy skin. Suncream nowadays is much less thick than in the old days, thank god. I think the arabre solaire stuff is good - apply little and often. Enjoy your holidaY!

hey!
i find that the sun can help my acne however if i start to sweat then that brings all my spots out
so i suggest that u can go in the sun and stuff but make sure that u do use a good sun cream so u dont burn but also shower regulary if u sweat and get sticky, so that it doesnt clog up your pores
:)

I found the sun may be good in drying out the pimples but it made my post pimple red spots redder and take longer to fade. I'd wear a sunscreen when I go out. I like the Neutrogena Dry Touch sunscreen. It doesn't feel greasy.

I'm back now, good holiday :)

Just to say, i got quite a bad sunburn on my back. I did have spots there, even after roaccutane - only a few though, and a few marks.

I'm back now, no pain - sunburn is gone, and it's christmas all over again, my back is peeling quite bad, my skin is literally falling off from my back in relatively big pieces.

My face is worse, of course the sun brought the spots out. Hopefully in 2 weeks my face will be back to normal, or even better now i have had some sun at it.

But, to my back. Now that a lot of skin has come off and there is a 'fresh' looking top layer, there is a MAJOR improvement. My back wasn't really bad, but the skin wasn't so great. It has been like a chemical peel. Fresh skin. Looking good.

Just on to the face now

If I'd have seen your message earlier, I'd have warned you that Roaccutane makes you highly photosensitive for a long time after you stop taking it.
