Suicidal feline

When I came out of the house to leave for work this morning I heard a little meowing. Sounded like it was coming from across the street. It sounded like a pitiful little lost kitty. So I was looking for it, but I couldn't see it.... but it kept meowing. It sounded like it could have been coming from any of like 4 houses across the street... so I just figured it was echoing and I wouldn't find the kitty.

So I get in my car, start it up, then remember that I've seen the neighborhood kitties under the cars at my house... so I moved very very slowly while I was backing up, cause I wanted to give any of them a chance to get away if they happened to be under there. Well I backed out to the road... and see a dead kitty in front of my car. That I had to have just run over. The stupid thing committed suicide.

Poor little kitty. I ran over its head. I still feel bad. I stopped and grabbed a shovel and took care of it. Ended up pretty late for work.

Wtf.

that poor thing .... why din't it ran away ??

i got a cat and he's afraid of everything louder than his 'meowing' if i start my car he runs away, like a swine from a butcher ... or so ....

just wtf... stupid cat ......
and i feel sorry for you too .... great stard for the day, running over a cat ...

shit

Not to make you feel worse but chances are that he was meowing because he was stuck in your engine compartment. Cats like to crawl up in there and sometimes get stuck. You fired the car up and killed him, he fell out and you backed over him. Most likely scenario.

Sorry man... makes for a bad day I know.

If you run over my cat you'll be the one under the lawnmower.

As for killerbean, that makes for one crappy day. I feel for you, but it's kind of the cats fault for not moving. Stupid cat.

I just got this really sick image in my head of a car turning on and a kitten flying out the tailpipe and smashing into a wall.

That really sucks but lol at suicide cat, seriously, that could be a new internet fad, like ceiling cat or limecat.

wow, bad day. That happened to my roomate and I a few weeks ago...maybe there's some kind of mass cat suicide thing going on...

Cats do seem to commit suicide by car. I've had them literally dive under my tires, though so far I've been lucky enough to avoid them. I know lots of people who haven't been that lucky. You're driving along, then BAM, they run under your car from the side. What can you do?

Probably. My friend used to keep his truck in storage over the winter, and apparently sometime during the winter a stray cat had made a home in the engine. When he got the truck back, he fired it up and turned on the air conditioning, only to be covered in tiny bits of cat. Fur, blood, flesh... I saw the aftermath, it was fucking grisly.

Point is: the cat wasn't suicidal, it was probably looking for somewhere warm to hide and got stuck.
