Hi All-
I wasn't sure where this ought to go, so am putting under general health.
I have (for now) given up on western medicine being able to help me, as all they want to do is give me drugs and the drugs don't help. So I've scheduled an initial visit to a naturopath, and the initial consult is supposed to be quite long. I understand that naturopaths get more in depth and want to know how to prepare.
Right now I have written up a list of:
-My current health concerns
-The medications I currently take
-The supplements I currently take
-My lifestyle
Of primary concern to me is that I feel like my body is just slowly failing me. I am 37 years old, I feel way older. I'm 95 lbs overweight (I used to be very active and fit), I have hypothyroid, joint pain in my left elbow, extreme lower back pain, my feet itch constantly especially at night, I am unable to lose weight despite significant lifestyle changes (diet, exercise and quit drinking alcohol entirely), I have acid reflux, suffer from vulvodynia, I have decreased tolerance to pain, I get really bad exercise induced athsma from exercising outside when it's cold, and I'm getting allergies when I never used to. I know, long list. Bottom line, I don't want to just take pain pills and allergy pills and keep taking Prevacid and all that.
What other things should I be listing for my initial visit? Has anyone here ever been to a naturopath? What will they ask me? I want to give as much information to the Dr up front so that I can be treated. I am willing to commit to lifestyle change, dietary change, accupuncture, pretty much whatever. I want my health back.
Any feedback or suggestions would be helpful.
Thanks in advance.
