Getting a new phone to hold me over for 6 months.
I was thinking of either getting one or getting a few.
I was looking at
Siemens S66
Siemens m56
SE t616

Suggestions?

TiA!

I'm biased, but i'd always go for SonyEricsson.

I'm very much loving my Z520a and I've used the T610, T616, T637, and Z600 in the past, all with very good luck.

If you just want a *basic* phone to use, go to GoPhone.com and purchase the Nokia 3120b refurb for $30. It will come with a PAYG SIM, and you can sell it for about $15. So, basically, for $15 you will have a nice little phone that has a basic WAP browser, is MMS capable, has a speakerphone, and of course supports SMS.

You can get the v330 (basically T-Mobile's version of the v551) off of Amazon for $109.99 A/R. If you could get it unlocked (about $25 in the marketplace) you could have a decent ~$130 phone. You would have to keep the SIM active long enough to get the rebate. It is really hard to find a decent phone at this pricerange. You either have the "basic" phones at $40-70 or the more feature-filled ones at $150-$250. There really isn't any good compromise.

I'm in the same boat as you. Need two phones ~$100 for my family plan. Narrowed it down to either a RAZR, SE z520a, and v557/551. What's the best choice of those for call quality/reception, best OS, and ease of use?

Anyone?

Still considering the Siemens s66, and looking strongly at a 6620, but also wondering if I should hold off for a bit.

TiA,

I enjoyed using the T616 to an extent. I had one for about six months as a backup phone. It didn't have great reception in fringe areas, but BT was good, the cam was okay and the menu system was average. I think SE has made dramatic improvements in its UI since then. Perhaps instead, you may consider the T637, which though a bit more expensive (I bet you could find it for about $150 on ebay) is an improved version of the T616.

I've not had the opportunity to use either of the Siemens phones you've mentioned, but the S66 can be had for a decent price now on ebay and it's practically a smartphone plus it has a 1MP cam. I'd love to try one out ... but I buy too many toys, so I have to exercise some restraint.

Now that the z520a is out, maybe you can find the z500 for a good price on ebay. Just a thought.

As far as I can tell, the only difference between the 6620 and the 7610 is design and camera with the 7610 having a MP cam on it. So, that's probably just going to be a personal preference choice. I know you can find 6620's for a decent price on ebay now, too. For six months use, it may not be a bad way to go.

Hope that helps a bit.

Great! Thanks, leaning towards the 6620.

What about the mpx220 or the SMT5600? I hate windows, but I'd be willing to give WM a shot.
