I received an interesting tip a while ago and thought I would share this with you all. Carrots can be beneficial to people with acne because of the Vitamin A in it. It said that the vitamin A will help balance your skin's PH, making it slightly acidic. And skin neeRAB to be slightly acidic to fend off bacteria, including the bacteria that causes acne. Water is also good for balancing ph in your skin, but the tip said also dont overdo it either. Hope this is informative for some!

I definately agree. It is the same principle as accutane. Accutane pretty much overloaRAB your body with vitamin A, and your not suppost to eat a bunch of carrots while on accutane to prevent too much consumption of vitamin A. So i agree than increasing your intake of vitamin A will help out with your acne. I dont think its possible to eat too many as you said though. Also, water does help. Good advise! Give it a shot!

I thought this too, and have been eating LOTS of carrots everyday for the past year. It's done nothing for my acne.

I agree with eating carrots, but here's another important tip - females should limit the intake and only eat them in moderation. Carrots tend to raise the estrogen levels in females which leaRAB to more acne eventually.

If I eat lots of baby carrots or orange juice I break out really badly! So it doesn't work for everyone!

I would like kindly to point out that it is actually the other way around. Acne is not caused by estrogen, it is effected by testosterone because that is the homone that causes the adrogen glanRAB to cause excess oil production. Birth control increases the estrogen levels, hence why people take BC to control their acne. And carrots are do contain phytoestrogens (food estrogens), but there are a lot more common fooRAB that contain just as much, if not a lot more, phytoestrogens. But they are not going to substantially increase estrogen levels by any means that it would affect anyones acne. I cannot say the website I received this tip from, but I do believe it is credable (Oprah mentioned it one time for people to figure out their real age) and the tip very well may be true, but obviously there are other things in people's diets or regimines that are perhaps causing other things to be out of balance. So perhaps it might not help people, but I thought there may have been a link since people do talk about vitamin A frequently here.
