Suggest T-Mobile tower locations...

I didn't know if everyone out there knew about this site, but there is a site out there that will allow you to submit a location for a potential T-Mobile tower location (assuming you own the property you are submitting for the location of course).

It's really easy to use, and my parents have already submitted land that they own in southwestern Utah for a potential site. Again, you have to own the land that you're suggesting the site be built on, but what better way to try and expand your personal coverage? It's like having @Home in your backyard...with a tower...

NOTE: Generally, numerous suggestions for locations will be considered higher priority, and T-Mobile will keep your suggestions as a future potential site, and may or may not use suggestions at their behest.
 
What do landowners get in return for the use of their land?

Do they receive a regular payment for leasing the area (this is usually what they do in Australia)? Are they given a free or discounted T-Mobile service?

When does a contract not have something to do with money or some sort of compensation?
 
although, funny, that is not a bad idea. think about it...someone builds some sort of antenna, maybe 3 or 4 feet high, then get's people to attach them to their cars. they can get a discount on thier cell bill, with enough of these transmitters on the road, it would have to have SOME sort of possitive impact on reception. (think rush hour in LA or NYC)

or instead of towers, how about finding a way to integrate a 'woven' antenna into buildings. like a big grid or something, layed down under the roof of a house or apartment, or into the outside walls, then have a transformer or reciver that powers it.

these ideas look great in my imagination.

do we have any investors on the stacks...hmmmm??
 
Here's a good one too...I actually have done this:

Go to Sprint (ick, yeah, i know, but it is fast speed) and get an aircard.
Then go get one of those wifi routers that have the battery backup/car charger and house charger.
Then register that IP to your H@H.
Then just carry it around with you in a backpack, and you're all set. Instant CDMA speed wifi and free calling.

My neighbor right down the street from me just got a tower built in his yard, and my coverage is great now! Oh, how I love having five bars of EDGE service almost all the time!!
 
Well, I'm moving for school on August 1st, so that means no more close-range tower coverage. Not only that, but i will be moving to an area outside of T-Mobile's coverage, and so when I move, I have to call them so they can cancel my service and get the ETF fee waived. :cry: The only way I can hold onto my beloved T-Mobile service is hotspot@home, but that will get me coverage for a grand total of 30 to 300 feet (or if they build a tower there, which I've already tried to push for, but I'm starting to lose hope). Such a sad day for this Curve user.
