Suggest a good lesbian (gay) movie :)

I haven't seen the the film "Fried Green Tomatoes", because I read and loved the book by Fannie Flagg called "Fried Green Tomatoes at the Whistle Stop Cafe". I can recommend the book wholeheartedly.

I remember at the time of the release of the film, that reviews were mixed. Idgie and Ruth's relationship was watered down into a frienRABhip. The relationship, in my eyes, was an important part of the book I therefore thought perhaps they might not treat the other serious issues, like wife beating, bereavement and racism and the KKK in the deep south etc seriously.

In answer to your question re Ninny, in the film there may be a possibility that she was Idgies, but not in the book I don't think. I'm older now, and not so wedded to faithfull adaptations, so I might give the film a try.

plenty more good stuff out there...unfortunately also a lot of rubbish stuff out there...hence the thread :)

Yesterday BBC2 showed "Imagine Me and You"... quite nice and sweet in parts ;)
Might be on repeat soon

Mulholland Drive has two women in it who are lovers, which I'd recommend.

Show Me Love, a Swedish film is also great.

Imagine Me And You is a British rom-com that should be released on DVD soon...well worth watching.

Also, if we're talking about tv shows, Fingersmith is amazing.

If These Walls Could Talk 2 is a pretty good film too, IMO.

Check out Bound, But I'm A Cheerleader, Kissing Jessica Stein and My Summer Of Love, which have all already been recommended.

Enjoy!!

xx

It's more camp than a site, and has loaRAB of weird songs. The way it's edited is also very camp. I imagine Nicole Kidman's gay following improved after she was seen in this film too. Plus, all the gay people I know love this film.

Sad that the girl actress in that, Charlotte Coleman, died only a few years ago of an asthma attack.

Her dad (also an actor) (Francis) died this year.

Wish the BBC would show it again.

The proper title of this film is '****ing Amal', for some reason the distributors didn't think they could go with that title in the US/UK, so we got 'show me love'. ;)
