Hello all! I was wondering if any of you find taking Sudefed with acid reflux helps with the congestion of post nasal drip and perhaps feeling like your lungs may be congested? I am just curious. Thanks for any replies!

Sudafed does help me with congestion in general. I can't speak about it helping reflux congestion vs. allergy congestion. When I'm miserable with congestion, I just want to get it treated regardless. Watch the decongestants if you have rabroadP though. I had to stop taking them daily and now only take them temporarily when things are really bad because I developed rabroadP several years ago.

Oh is that High Blood Pressure you mean? Luckily mine still runs nice and low. I hope and pray that doesn't change. I have decided only to take Sudefed as needed but not daily. It gives me muscle twitches GALORE! I had to see a neurologist and go through that horrible shock test where my arms and legs were flying everywhere while the zapped me. There was nothing wrong. Just benign muscle twitches. She said it was the Sudefed. Sure enough it was. I went off of it for a couple months and the twitches were gone.

But once in awhile I really need it. This whole thing is frustrating. Thanks for helping!

I take Allegra D daily for allergy symptoms along with Protonix. So far I haven't had any bad side effects. It helps with post nasal drip, opening up my sinuses, and with stopping sneezing.

Try taking mucinex as well. It really help with everything. Just make sure you take it with an antacid because it does sometimes cause additional heartburn. But once that goes away, you can actually feel everything draining and you will be much more comfortable.

I haven't had much luck with anything other than flonase or sprays for my nose. The Sudafed dried me up alright but so much that my throat became parched and I was hoarse all day. Is there Mucinex for nasal congestion. I really don't have congestion in my chest much. It's more nasal. I've found that doing saline rinses several times a day helps some and keeping chewing gum in my mouth all the time. The yuck has been very bad last couple of days and can tell it's worse after eating but wonder if I have a sinus infection too. Getting up lots of thick yellow crap but always come from my mouth not my nose even though I can feel it in my sinus. I know this is gross but sure many can relate. Seems I haven't recovered from the beating my stomach took during the holidays. Even sort of sick at my stomach feeling, which I haven't had that in a long time.

Mucinex will thin mucous anywhere in the body and help to clear it out. It is usually used and/or advertised for chest congestion but it works very well for sinus congestion too. Sometimes I can take it and skip the Sudafed.

Thanks! I'll sure get Mucinex again. I was prescribed that by my asthma/allergy Dr. when you couldn't buy it OTC and have bought when I had bronch or cold. PND has been horrible this weekend and as always...only on right side. That is so strange that so many seem to have these LPR symptoms only on one side. Have had my head in steam a lot today and that's helped.
