Sudden OLERR and Outlook not syncing

I've read the two previous threads regarding this issue, and the fix (Detect and Repair) did not help me, apparently. I chose the defaults ("Restore shortcuts" checked, and "Discard customized settings" unchecked).

Everything was working fine up until a few days ago, and I didn't make any changes to my Outlook/Palm settings (though a forced update to my system might have!).

Can anyone help me? Log file attached.

Jon,

Looking over your OLERR error and hot sync log - something has gotten corrupted. Here is what I'd suggest.

Using FileZ delete the DateBook.db file and CalendarDB-Pdat file on the handheld.

Launch your Datebook/Calendar application on the handheld this will create blank databases which are necessary for sync.

Then set your hotsync conduits so that the hotsync "Desktop overwrites Handheld" for the Outlook Calendar portion only.

And advise - it should take the data at that time. It's possible you might have a corrupted record on the desktop but that's not indicated by the log.

Thank you, MooseMan! I'll find FileZ, and do as you say. Darned Outlook! Too bad there isn't a way to port new Outlook meetings/etc. over to DeskTop! I miss being able to use DeskTop... But I have to have meetings automatically update, with as many as I have continually generating.

MooseMan, I found FileZ, loaded it, successfully removed datebook.db, but encountered the following error when attempting to remove calendardb-pdat:

Error : dm : Database
Open in item::remove()
d

After that, another popup that said there was an error in deleting.

That doesn't look good. I'm assuming that that is the corrupted file. Any ideas on this one?

Thanks, again, for your help so far.

Delete what you can - then reopen the Calendar program to reestablish the blank file and then set hot sync to Desktop overrides Handheld for just the Calendar app and see what happens.

Ok - here's my last suggestion. I've had to do this upon very rare occassions but it may be worth a try:

Export the calendar to either a CSV or Excel format. This can be done via the File menu - import export function.

Then delete all calendar entries in Outlook.

Then delete all calendar entries on the Handheld.

Force the hot sync to Desktop overwrites Handheld and see if you can complete the sync without any data.

If the sync is successful - then import the exported info back in.

This should clean up any corruption that occurred.

If the sync isn't successful without data - then go purchase Pocket Mirror Pro XT (or Standard XT) and install it.

I gave up on the Palm conduits clear back with my T3 when the darn things kept giving me these dreaded OLERR errors.

Thanks, Moose Man. That put the scare in me. I don't like the idea of potentially causing problems with my schedule (work schedule, work computer), so I tried a hard reset and re-install. That worked, and I'm back up and running (at least, for my first hotsync I am!). We'll see if this lasts.
