Sudden flash in my peripheral view?

My eyes get tired easily nowadays, as I've to stay up late to do tons of work. I've been seeing a sudden white flash in left eye (peripheral view only and for about 2-3 secs each time). I do not have too high myopia (3.75 for my left eye, 4.00 for my right eye and I wear contact lenses daily for only a few hours.

I do not have an eye doctor, so I'm probably going to my optometrist first for a checkup. Has anyone experienced this before? I hope its not some major issue.

it might be signs of retinal detachment. Im sure whoever you see will dilate your eyes just to be on the safe side. If it is always on the same spot then you should definitely get it check up asap.
