Sudden dizziness and vomiting

I am absolutely clueless.....

Yesterday morning, I was absolutely fine and felt great until 2pm that I suddenly got dizzy, became nauseous and then vomited 4-5 times consecutively. I didn't have headaches but I got more dizzy when lying down. I hated the feeling. The whole room was spinning. I was absolutely clueless. I never had health issues and I know the fact that I am not pregnant. Iam 27 years old and it was the first time that it happened. Today, I feel better now. I did not take any medications...Do you guys have an idea what's going on?

med123: Look up Meniere's Disease. Start there and see if that fits with your symptoms. Someone was on here somewhere recently talking about it and the dizziness and vomiting. That's all I've got for now.

I'm so sorry that you're having to go through this. I can speak from experience that the dizziness can be HORRIBLE. I woke up one morning about 20 years ago and actually passed out. Had never had a problem before. I didn't feel like myself for several months. It got better but it seemed that about every 18 months or so I would wake up with dizziness that would lead to vomiting. There was never any kind of warning, it would just hit....BLAM!!!!!! I had all kinds of tests.......EEG's, EKS's, CAT scan (I do have a brain) all kinds of blood tests along with the fasting type that they will take something like 6 viles of blood over 3-4 hours and NOTHING showed up. I still to this day will have dizzy problems BUT I no longer have the vomiting along with it. If I can go back to sleep I usually wake up with it fine. My doctor was trying to make me feel better one day and said "Just look at it this way, if it was anything BAD, you would be dead by now"!!!!! I couldn't help but laugh.

I have a neighbor that has had the same problems and she takes acupuncture. She can't really say that it's much better though.

I'm saying a lot to say nothing much other than you're not along. If it happens again just check with your doctor to be on the safe side. It could very likely be an inner ear problem. Good luck and I feel for you!

I know the feeling. I before have woken up in the middle of the night with extreme dizziness and nausea, where the whole room is spinning wildly around you. It's a terrifying feeling, although it should pass. Now I'm not sure what could have happened to you, but it's possible something triggered this dizziness - did you do anything that day that you do not usually? Did you hit your head?

If these episodes start to become regular, see a doctor, as you may have a problem with your vestibular system (the network inside your inner ears that controls your balance and therefore dizziness).

I sure hope you feel better! It sounds exactly like Vertigo (SP?) Research it on the internet. Vertigo can come and go, you should go see your doctor you wouldn't want it to happen again while you were driving!
God Bless, Crocheting

Beat me to it, I was going to suggest Vertigo. I also wonder if you might have recently experienced a head injury, because those could also be signs of a concussion.
