I been having a very strange tingling sensation right on the middle of my back that I just can't get rid of. Its something that comes and goes often. Its really hard to describe the feeling of it so I can't really be descriptive. Just very tingling, sometimes up to the point where it starts to get in the way/annoying. A friend says it could be the way I sit down with my back constantly hunched over. Which is true, I am mostly on the computer most of the time with my back hunched. This started happening a couple of days ago. Before that my constipation problems started up again out of nowhere last week. I'm wondering if this has anything to do with that problem. I have always had constipation problems for years. But this back tingle sensation is something new to me. Anyone have had anything similar? I'm hoping this doesn't have anything to do with cancer since my uncle died of it several years ago. I am trying to setup an appointment to get this checked out. I am on free insurance and its about to expire so I am hesitant on doing it. If it expire right when I'm trying to check this out I am gonna have a massive bill on me. And the last thing I need is another bill to pay off on my already tight budget. thx for any info

I strongly recommend that you have a check up with your family doctor and let him evaluate you to determine if you need xrays or MRI. It sounRAB like you might have some nerve problems going on. Good luck and keep us posted. We care.

Tommy, although I do think Diet's advice is really good advice, I did want to mention my neck will do exactly the same thing if I'm sitting at the computer for too long and my posture is bad. I have some mild arthritis in my neck and although that may contribute to it there is no doubt this tingling starts when I've held my neck in this position for hours on end - and since I'm on a computer all day at work it's happened to me quite a bit. It really is a very odd feeling, isn't it.

Get up, move around, stretch a bit, change your posture, find someone to gently massage the area (that's what I do with my neck.) Even more important, work on that posture change.

I have setup an appointment for tomorrow at 4:45pm in the afternoon to my doctor. In the last couple of days my symptoms have gotten gradually worse. My abdominal aches have increased, even worse when i sit down. It feels like there is something there. Also at random times I get nauseous, feel sick that I'm gonna hurl. And the tingling in my back still hasn't gone away. I'm praying that its nothing serious. Will update as things go. thx.

EDIT: I do have a question that i'm hoping someone here can ask. Is there some sort of scan that can look into my body to see if I have any blockage occuring? Like maybe an mri? I am anxious to know what is causing my abdominal pains.

Hopefully, while you're reading this you got some answers but I just wanted to let you know that I had that same thing start last January. Mine would "attack" at night and sleeping became a battle. It was like bugs or something, the best I could describe was the heebee jeebees. My doc. actually thought I might have MS but after a MRI, it was discovered that I had two disc bulges in my upper cervical area of my back that were causing pressure on a nerve. Since the MRI, I've been on a cocktail of pain drugs and PT with increasing pain. What started as tingles, became pain in my shoulder/scapula and is now running down my right arm to my wrist. I am suppose to get a cortisone epidural shot in Sept. which hopefully will eliminate the irritation.

Good luck with getting a diagnosis and although my story isn't encouraging (yet), it certainly is better than cancer or MS.

I have one spot on my back that has been occasionally doing this since my fusion surgery. It's a very weird feeling! I told my physical therapist about it and she had me stand against a wall with a tennis ball at that spot and roll it around by moving my body up and down. After a few days, it was all but gone. It comes back every now and then, but a session with the tennis ball gets rid of it.

Hope this helps,
Emily
