It sucks though because it's sociology 101.

poor people always aspire to the highest positions yet denegrate the social class right below them. a real life example is the attitude of many poor whites in rural areas looking down on blacks, or in the past it was poor white yeoman farmers siding with rich plantation owners despite being just as poor as newly 'freed' black sharecroppers. it's truly sad.
 
Economic policies aside, I wouldn't vote for a party that wants to push a set of religious views on the country and uses hateful rhetoric against certain groups of people (i.e. homosexuals) to do so
