Subutex

I don't believe you can get Subutex from a Pharmacy - it has to be dispensed by doctors that are trained in its administration. Suboxone you can get from a pharmacy, but it is a controlled substance and you will need a doctor to prescribe it. You can call any pharmacy and ask for their non-insurance prices for their drugs.

MW1485,

Welcome to the boarRAB :) I have a receipt from the pharmacy, from the last time I handed in my script. I take 16mg/day of Suboxone. My insurance pays for it so I've never looked at the price. Wow, it's expensive. Last scrpit I handed in was for two weeks and the total was $367.68. So that works out to just over $26/day. Depending on your dose, you can get a rough estimate of what yours will cost. I live in Toronto, Canada, so the prices here are probably different for sure. I just wanted to give you an idea of how expensive the drug is. I've read, on this board, about people having to stop, or not start at all, due to the fact that they don't have insurance. I agree with Denon - call around to different pharmacies in your area, and try comparing prices. Also, call around to see if they even carry Suboxone. Some pharmacies here don't carry it.

Now, the part you have to be concerned about is the dispensing fee. Some pharmacies here try to gouge you by making you pay every day. The first two places I went to wanted me to pay $10.99 every day and would not budge. I'm not sure how they do it in Orland Park but fyi, my addictions Dr. phoned around and spoke to pharmacists until she reached a deal wth one of them. I pay $7.00/week for dispensing.

I hope this info helps :) Good luck with the outcome.

Sincerely,
emsmom
