Subs or Dubs?!?

For me, it definatly depends.
Sometimes the english is OH SO CRAPPPYYY ~
and sometimes the japanese version, everyone sounds either...

1. like a cute little girl

Also, if dubbed, it can change drasticly due to chops and changes. I would only ever watch subbed anime because I feel as if there isn't only more to the programme but it is also closer to the mangas (I read more than I watch). I remember watching the dubbed Naruto series... I felt like I would cry. >>;;

I love subs 1000x more for sure. They voice acting is on a complete different level. You don't hear the same actor in every anime when its subbed as well. Total troll..

You know I have realized recently that the only anime I can't watch subbed is Dragonball Z cause I have gotten so used to hearing the dubbed version of it that it seems so weird to hear it in the original japanese. But I think I should give it a chance again cause I didn't give it a long enough chance.

Its just common sense. Because they have such a high demand for anime voice actors they have many more and a high quality because of competition. The need for solely voice acting in other countries is alot lower and so the "good" voice actors are used more often. You can tell. Plus it helps me learn my fledgling Japanese when I listen to it as well.

I am quite partial to subs, although there are a few series I like better dubbed such as Fullmetal Alchemist, Welcome to the NHK and Ghost in the Shell.

Oh please

and I bet you can't even really tell the difference between the VA's in japanese
I swear it seems like only 4 types of VA do the sub voices for EVERY SINGLE ANIME because they ALL SOUND THE SAME.

Subs. Always.

you get to expierince it as it was meant to be. no american accents :P

also, i have an interest in the japanese language: it helps me to learn by listening to it; and i get very excited when i can understand the dialogue without reading the subs :L

This topic comes up a lot. For me if the english voice acting is good then I'll watch it but it's usually not. Also I've noticed that if I read the subtitles then I pay more attention to the anime compared to when I watch is passively. I usually prefer subs because of these reasons.

Subs. and then Dubs.
since sometimes the dialogue in both are totally different.. so it's interesting to compare at times...
though I'm more of subs, with the original character voices.

Personally, I prefer subs.
Its just that I think majority of the dubs aren't all that good and it kinda ruins the atmosphere of the anime.

Well.. might also be because I am Japanese; can speak both Japanese and English fluently. I can see where there are bad translations come through. bad subs, I can somewhat stand subs for I dont 'have' to read them. But you can't really ignore dubs lol

Now Now ppl, some Dubs hav some really good qualities to them. Liek the FMA dub was good. But uh....yeah, Bishoujo Senshi Sailor Moon dub, made me wanna laugh, cry, and vomit all at once...and dont get me started on the Moribito and Fugishi Yugi dub. Ew.
But some dubs are goood, so I perfer both.

Although I rather subs most of the time, some English dubbed productions do a fantastic job. The only thing annoying about dubs, I find, is sometimes they cut certain scenes or dub it in a different way due to cultural differences between Japan and the West. I understand why they do that, however, I personally rather it unchanged.

You know I know alot of people prefer subs but when you first saw a anime in the dubbed version did anyone find it hard trying to watch a anime you are used to watching dubbed being subbed?

Ahh. Dragon Ball Z is probably like the only anime that I have seen in English but not in Japanese xD... Yeah guess that one was up to standard

Considering that, I must be really lucky to be able to understand Japanese Lol..
Bringing that subject up, I think English speaking anime watchers are rather multi-talented for being able to read and watch at the same time. Coz tbh, I never really atteampted actually 'reading' the subs. I would glance over it time to time but if i had to watch the actual anime and read at the same time, I would literally have to watch the anime 3times to be satisfied with it >
