Subs or Dubs?!?

Doesn't really matter to me. Either or, I can enjoy anime subbed and dubbed. I think that the discussion would have alot more meaning to it though if this was still the days of anime on VHS. At that time I would have easily and clearly said dubbed. Being that it was cheaper, thus it allowed me to watch/own more as a kid.

SUBS! xD
dubs somehow spoils e show...whoever does the subbing chooses strange voices usually =P it becomes over high, and too ditsy, n e char loses all it's cuteness. there was once a chinese dub of mai hime, mai sounded like a slut -.-...and natsuki didnt sound cool like she does in e original... somehow, i dun realli like e voice changes =P

Very early on I used to listen to dubs but after what ADV did to Evangelion I can't anymore. I always get the feeling if I don't watch the anime in the original language I am not getting the right interpretation of the characters. (I.e for Evangelion Shinji is not a whiner like the dub portrays him but is basically apathetic about everything, Gendo isn't "evil" but more along the lines of emotionly dead inside, Rei is not supposed to sound like an emotionless robot but rather someone who doesn't understand emotions, and Ritsuko is not actually a b*tch like the dub makes her sound.)

Plus for some reason a lot of the dubbers seem to want to use horrible accents (see Love Hina) that drives me insane. I am strickly a sub person now due to poor quality on the dubbers part.

it depends....
.....if the dubbing is soooo... bad that you should mute the TV(or Media player)..or the dubbing edited out the character's accent.......
..i'd prefer Subs......
.....and if the subtitles are appeared too quick...or the subtitle has too many misspelled words......
...i'd prefer dubs.....

DUBBING IS BAD!!! especially when the voice selections really do not suit the character!
I support Subbing! With dubbing you can lose some of the story coz they have to suit what everyone says to the mouth movements!

Dragonball Z movies? I don't know if we were watching the same movies, and I've only seen a few of them, but the movies were terrible. Especially the dubbed voices in them.

Subs for me. I prefer hearing Japanese voices with the characters and everything.

Depends. As I don't understand japanese, it don't sound bad to me when it is, and I cant fully appreciate the good voice action even though it often sounds good overall. As for dubs, there are several I would take over watching subs, and there are also those that makes my ears bleed when i listen to them. They are usually more extreme, swaying widely in one direction or the other. There are of course also bad subtitles that does make it a real pain to watch the original audio track, no mater how great the japanese voice acting is.

I can watch either one. It completely depends on the anime, but if its a tie, I rather watch it dubbed, so in that regard, I guess I tend to like dubs more, although I don't really mind either way.

Dubs don't and would never stop me from watching anime (although some dubs drive me up a wall) but if I have the choice it's got to be subs!

kinda annoys me too (ok, annoys ALOT), especially from the little googly girls. on the other hand the english dubs sound awful and unfit, its like shaving stalins mustach..it feel unnatural

I definitely prefer subs or just Japanese, because Dubs are usually changed to remove the profanity, and all the things that unintelligent people wouldn't understand basically making it a cartoon *cough*4Kids*cough*. I also hate it when in the Japanese version they say something but in English they say the wrong thing, sure we are all "Human" but I just despise how dumb they make anime look.

Some dubs are good some are bad, i was shocked with Goku's subbed version voice after seeing the dub...o.o. And Sakura's dubbed voice in Cardcaptors sounds better imo. I also think the dubbed voice of Yuki is better in Fruits basket, it suited it better since in the subbed version...he has a female voice. Not saying if thats good or bad but im just saying the dubbed voice suits it better imo. On the other hand yeah, the dubbing sometimes ruins it especially when pronouncing names so Its 50/50.
