Subs or Dubs?!?

some dubs for anime series are pretty bad but a good few get it right... mostly before the year 2000 though, I dunno what it is with the dubbing in really big pop anime series like naruto, it's pathetic... anime should not sound like a f'king disney show.

Dubbing seemed to go down hill around the time Akira got re-released with a new dub and wtf is with that... it totally sucks (even though it's alot more accurate), what happened to these pill popping/chick f'king punks that go out to almost kill each other through gang warfare?... enter the disney dubbers (that's just what I call it heh.... these nicey nice voices).
Don't be fooled , if you want to watch a dub of Akira, make sure to watch the old version as the voices are really cool.

Alot of feature length anime has superb dubs... FOTNS anyone? (John Vickery as Kenshiro will stay with me forever).. I'll refrain from listing.

as i said, anime seires, it's on and off... I much preffer older dubs because the cast get the voices right or at least make the characters sound cool.

Another thing to consider is that if I watch an anime seires for the first time subbed... the dub is somtimes hard to bear, it's different if I watch the dub first.... I'm kinda waiting to watch it subbed to see if it's way different like DBZ... it's like watching another show, the impact a dub can have is monumental when it comes to anime.

well its not like they can get anywhere arguing about it there dumb..
people like that make me mad so i had to say something

....

But seriously, if dubs were done well, dubs would be on top. But since that's unheard of, we are forced to read annoying print at the bottom of the screen which overall leads to missing things. Not saying dubs are better I just would rather be able to hear what they are saying. The majority of what I watch is subbed anyway.

But on a lighter note,

Suicide.

At first when I started watching anime, I liked the dubs because I hated trying to read and watch at the same time. But as I got older, I really like the Japanese language more and more. I started watching subbed anime more [mostly series that haven't been released in the US] and got used to reading the subtitles. Now I prefer subs because I like hearing the Japanese language and the original seiyuu's.

But there are a couple good dubs that I like to watch [Cowboy Bebop, Samurai Champloo, Gundam Wing, Rurouni Kenshin].

DBZ's dubbing > DBZ's subbed

goku sounds like a flaming homo.

Kyuu you don't know the threshold of resistance I'm pushing right now not to spam.

For this thread - it's OK, because the topic is retarded.

And that's so true. In fact, in YouTube, there are multiple videos of DBZ Sub vs Dub comparisons; and it's nice they even went as far as edited the music (by replacing it).

This varies from show to show. Some dubs are very well done, while many will attempt to poke a straw into your ear and drink your brains.
