My question involves a consumer law issue in Ontario.

I'm pretty sure I'm being scammed, but not 100% sure, at the same time. They're (this particular organization) is saying that they will be filling a lawsuit against me, and that a subpoena will be issued at my work place. I think they should've used the word summoning... This was left via voicemail. But in any case, I'm quite sure that they have my old address, and I am no longer employed...

Does anyone know exactly how a subpoena works for Ontario?

If you're "served" one in the mail, and it's the wrong address (meaning it's not received) are you still accountable to go? Will you be held in contempt of court if you don't show up? Or are they supposed to come right to my door?
What are my responsibilities here? Am I legally required to contact someone to give them my address?

Again, not sure if this is really legit, but want to cover myself just in case.
I've tried researching this online, but haven't had much luck..

Im prety sure it has to be presented to you in person...not sure though.....there should be some Law web sites where you can get this question solved
