Hello,

I need some information about subpoena duces tecum in Illinois, like state requirements for answering subpoena, how much time do I have to respond, what documentations are required.
I tried to find a state website with information but I am having hard time.
I will be glad if anyone can help me to locate a website where I can find those information.
Thank you
It is not that I have received an subpoena. I need this information for school. I never seen subpoena in my life. I need just a general information about it. I tried to find a state website but googling taking me nowhere.

A Duces Tecum Subpoena is reserved for persons who have custody of specific evidence that needs to be brought with them to the trial. These are common with a custodian of records, who could be ordered to bring all records pertaining to the defendant. This type of subpoena will have listed what you are required to bring with you. So unlike the normal subpoena to just appear the duces tecum requires you to bring specific items with you. Like all subpoenas it will have a time, date and place to appear with the items. Hope I helped.

If you have received a subpoena, it STATES how long you have to respond and EXACTLY what is required. If you can't determine BOTH of those answers, hire an attorney. We CAN'T provide information you ALREADY HAVE in a form you will understand.
