ps i have never done anything stronger then the lortab, except for the morphine drip they gave to me when i got my hip replaced, had not trouble getting off the pain medicine back then. 7 years ago

In fact this is the first time i have ever been on pain meRAB for this long.

yes emsmom. I just took the other 4mg. Still a little foggy but i was able to mow the lawn and shampoo the rug.

I will keep you updated. I read the sub is for depression also. That is a good thing. Havent felt real good for almost a year now. thanks for keeping up with my progress. was wondering if you were still reading my post.

I have been reading quite a few other posts also. THe room is a good room. Thanks for participating as much as you do.

The dr said stay at the dose he gave me
gave me some nausea medicine.

i think it will go better today hope so lol

Just please be careful. I've never taken it but I've heard it is not the best choice to manage pain. If you are going to need meRAB to help with pain long term and you are worried about addiction, I'd check into methadone. It's just that I have heard the longer you are on sub the harder it is too get off of, way harder than lortab. Good luck with whatever you choose to do!!

Hi Jolo, I would also agree that the amount of lortab you are taking doesn't seem to be very high at all. What was it that prompted your discussion with your doctor about suboxone? Do you feel like you're addicted and want to stop taking lortab or does your doctor feel as though you are addicted or does your doctor just want to switch you to another pain management medicine? Suboxone will help with pain but my understanding is that it is primarily prescribed for addiction/dependence treatment. Suboxone is a heck of a lot more expensive than generic lortab so I'm thinking the goal here is to get you off of addictive opioiRAB altogether. I am on suboxone currently and it is amazing when it comes to taking care of withdrawals and cravings. My doctor told me that since suboxone is a partial opioid agonist getting off of it is easier than full opioid agonists such as oxy, hydro, etc. If you want off of opioiRAB altogether suboxone is something to consider but if you have a choice of being on lortab or suboxone for the rest of your life I'd stick with the lortab. Suboxone doesn't give you the opiate high whereas lortab obviously does. Whatever you choose I wish you the best. The bad times will pass and the good times are just around the corner.

Hi Jolo,

Yes, Sub helps with depression as well. I found that I felt great within a week or so. I could feel the Sub working after about 30 mins (the first time) but within a week, I was out with my daughters - playing at the park - something I hadn't done in over a year. I didn't want to do anything while I abused pain pills. I let it go too far. It got to the point where I needed the pills just to function normally, yet I still didn't want to do anything...and I mean anything. I was stuck on the couch and would do the bare minimum required to keep my household afloat. Now, I've let my cleaning lady go (I do ALL the housework myself - we hired someone to clean cause I just couldn't do it), I'm at the park with my daughters every day, I've recently joined a soccer team for May/June and a baseball team for July/August (things I did before I abused pills), and I've started riding my bike again. I am also pain-free which is absolutely amazing! I feel like me again, and I owe it all to Suboxone :)

So, yes, Sub really helped with my depression. It lifted my spirits and allowed me to get back to the girl I once was...

I am happy to hear things are looking up for you :) I was a little worried when you kept getting sick from it. Keep in mind, you don't have to be on Sub forever. You can use it short-term and see if you can still live a normal life without pain medication - that's completely up to you. On the contrary, if you decide to continue using Sub long-term, that's fine too. Just as long as it's YOUR decision :)

It is my pleasure keeping up with your progress. As busy as I am, I make time for this board cause I want to "give back" the help that was given to me. I appreciate your thanks :) That means alot to me.

It's Thursday night - date night for hubby and I so I will bid you good night...

Anything exciting planned for the weekend?

Sincerely,
emsmom
