Hello everyone -
Anyone on Suboxone out there? And had surgery, requiring pain meRAB? I had shoulder surgery two days ago and having been on Suboxone for over a year, I was given bad advice before surgery - "just don't take your Suboxone the morning of surgery" - and lo and behold, post-surgery I haven't been able to get any effect from opiate pain meRAB. Don't the MD's have a responsibility to give us addicts in recovery good advice? I've been reading on various sites and people are saying I should have tapered off the Suboxone or at least not taken it for 3 days before surgery. It makes me angry! And I'm not just jonesing for percocet - just need pain relief, then planning to go right back on Suboxone after the acute pain phase. Just needed to vent. Any similar experiences or advice out there?
