i own 2003 honda crv very good suv for especially in snow and low maintenance and has excellent resale value Subaru does not have good resale so Will go for honda crv .i get 27 miles on highway by the way.
I'd go for the Outback because I think they have an option that is turbo charged. Honda is always a good car, cheap to repair and great mpg. So I suppose it depends on what you are looking for, more sporty and fast or cheap and economical.
