Stupid weight rant...

Bleh. So ever since my shoulder injury has gotten worse, I've had to quit from my sport and more recently, my job. Unfortunately, I didn't realize that I was letting myself go... and now I've gotten wayyy overweight and it's driving me nuts.

Anyway... So I've made a couple of goals that I hope to have reached by this time next year, but I'm worried that I won't stick to my plan. God damn those New Years resolutions. Has anybody out there ever made a huge one and actually stuck to it? If so... inspirational stories are requested, haha...

How are you planning on losing weight? By going on a diet, exercising, or whatnot?

I've never kept a new years resolution, but i have kept up with exercising. My roommate and I decided we needed to get into shape, so we run a mile or two, 3 or more times a week. Morning runs never worked for me. We're both night owls, so between 12am and 3am we break into a high school by our house and run on their track.

We're also *attempting* to eat healthier. I've been eating more fruit, veggies, japanese food, and tuna. Which is infinately better than easy-mac and ramen.

Good luck, and I hope your shoulder heals. :/ I have back problems, so that puts restrictions on my physical activity.

I've never made any New Year's resolutions, but have tried to change certain aspects. One thing that you might try is posting little affirmations around where you will be forced to see them. For example, "Walking refreshes my mind and body" will remind you that it doesn't take long to circle the block, or whatever, instead of watching another re-run on TV.

Good luck!

I always make new years resolutions to help other people, and become stronger. I accomplished both by doing almost anything for my friends, and exercising. All you have to do when you exercise for a New Year resolution is make it part of your daily schedule. Also, when you do exercise, make sure you enjoy it, personally I like listening to a different CD everytime I exercise. Good luck with losing weight.

My goal after I had my kids was to be a fat housewife and cook and clean and watch daytime soaps.

To bad I actually have to work.

Yeah, I don't have any inspiration for you to lose wieght. I think its great to have that goal if you don't like the way you are now. When I don't like something that I have to do I make a list of reachable goals broken down into weeks and then keep taht where I can see it all the time and give yourself a reward when you reach that goal.

You aren't afraid of any...health problems...from being obese? Personally, I could never be happy obese, there's just nothing good about it. (not calling you fat) That just suprises me, you seriously aren't worried about your weight?

I'm 29 years old, 5'5 and 220. Im not obese, Im not thin, I just am. And since gestational diabetes runs in my family on both sides, Im pretty sure that will kill me before being fat will. And considering I smoke about a pack a day, Im pretty sure cancer will kill me before diabetes does.

So no, obesity is way down on the low end of things I worry about. Actually I hardly ever worry about myself, I have CL and 5 kids to worry about. When they all grow up then I'll worry about me.

*cough* possible New Year Resolution *cough* ;) That is weird, if you are going to worry about yourself after your kids grow up the damage will already be done. Soo....why not make a new goal? :D

Way to tired, no will power, and no desire.

Its a self destructive behaviour.

But hey, I cut out pretty much all my other bad habits, so at least I wont die from a tweak/tar overdose. :D

I hate seeing people hurt themselves when they could make their own lives better...but that ain't my buisness to begin with. Perhaps instead of cutting out your destructive behaviour, you could reduce it slowly? Like make a resolution of half a pack a day, and when you get an urge to do more do something so you can't smoke, like...chew gum. :D

Well quit eating on the twinkies, hit the fuckin' tread mill and strap back those bitch tits - you're gonna do some sweating until you can wipe your ass again.

Don't worry, you'll be back on your knees in no time.

Do you somehow think you are funny? This is the life sucks section of our website, and is devoted to helping others and discussing things that make life harder. If you have nothing positive to contribute, I suggest you stop fucking typing or I will assist your ass right out the E-door.

Got it?

Thanks.

Oh, and read the rules.

PS We don't eat junk food or fast food in my house hardly ever. I make everything my kids eat. And we are a pretty active family, we take walks all the time. I just don't stress about my wieght because I have many other things to stress about.

PPS: This thread is not about me, so back to the OP

There are many websites that are free that you can talk to others about losing wieght. Google it.
