Stupid Sickness.

So, I've said before that I have a really shitty immune system. Well, this week really takes the cake.

Not even a month ago, I got over a really bad inner ear infection. Now, I have all the symptoms that scream "FLU!" sans the actual influenza virus.

I had been having issues with congestion for the past two weeks on and off, and I had been taking DayQuil and NyQuil religiously. Well, it's my spring break, and it's been one hell of a spring break if I may say so. Emphasis on the word hell. It all started Monday, I guess. I was feeling really, really congested, and my left ear was starting to hurt when I would take a drink or whatever. I just upped my meds from just Day/NyQuil to Day/NyQuil and Advil. Things were pretty level until Wednesday. I woke up and thought I was going to die. Every movement caused me pain, I felt like I was in a daze, and I was running a 102 degree fever. I spent most of my day sleeping, and I got talked into going to the doctor today.

I think I ended up at the doctor's office around 1PM and didn't get out of there until 4PM. While I was there, they tested me for the influenza virus by swabbing inside my nose (and that's a really unpleasant feeling having an extra long Q-tip shoved up your nose), which made me sneeze for a while afterward. Most of the time in the exam room I spent asleep. I could hardly keep my eyes open, my energy is so drained right now. The only reason why I'm awake right now is because of the steroid shot that they gave me. I am, however, feeling kind of giddy because I took some Lortabs. Apparently the doctor figured out I was hurting enough to give me those, which was surprising.

What really sucks about all this is that this is the third time already I've been majorly sick this year. I also know that this isn't going to be the end of me getting sick either. I'm beginning to wonder if I should start up on multivitamins or something. I guess a lot of it has to do with the fact that I'm not eating right, but I'm gradually trying to get myself to eat more. I ate two bowls of chicken noodle soup today, and that's a lot more than I normally eat.

Feel free to leave suggestions on what you think I could do to help boost my immune system and get my health a little more regulated, I guess you could say. I just wanted to rant a bit about what's been going on for the past few days.

I know, Havok. I'm trying my damnedest to do so.

However, combination of Lortabs/Steroid shot is an interesting thing. I'm not sleepy, just loopy, and I can't feel anything.

So a bit of an update (at almost 5:30AM my time) on my situation.

Feeling better due to the steroid shot and antibiotic shot they gave me. Problem is, the steroid shot is keeping me up, and the hydrocodone is having a hard time battling it.

Therefore, I'm alive, alert, awake, and rather fucking enthusiastic.

My throat still hurts a bit, and I'm still coughing and sneezing, but my fever finally broke, and I don't feel as congested and the pain all over my body is slowly disintegrating.

Any Orange juice can/may do so that your meds don't dissolve in the stomach so that's a big nono when sick or when on meds.

Drink alot of water, it helps your body to get rid of all kinds of shit in your system. 7-8glasses(1-1

Get 8 hours of sleep regularly. Like Stardust said get yourself in a routine for the sake of your body and health. Vitamins are great if you aren't eating healthy. You need to be eating regular healthy meals though. Once or twice a day isn't going to cut it.

Stay away from soda! Especially the diet crap. If you do drink it, I hope it isn't like daily. Those things are very bad for you. Water is your best friend. Fresh veggies and fruits are also the way to go. Processed foods have stuff in it that aren't all that good for the body.

Exercise. Not only are you keeping your body in shape, you are keeping your system in good health to fight infections better when you come in contact with them.

I hope you get well and stay that way. I know being sick really sucks.

So, it wasn't the flu at all. I checked my throat yesterday, and found out that it's hurting so bad because I have what looks like strep throat. It hurts to eat, hurts to drink, hurts to swallow. It sucks hardcore.

I'm heading back to the doctor's office tomorrow now that it's kicked in full blast and I know what I've got.

V3N: That kitty feels about like I do.

Yankee: I'm trying to fix myself. I'm on so many different meds right now it's insane. I just want my throat to stop hurting. I can't even talk right now. My throat is that swollen and fucked up.

Went back to the doctor today, considering that my throat is so swollen you probably couldn't fit a sewing needle down it. I would take pictures, but:

A) It fucking hurts to open my mouth more than enough to drink
B) I'm pretty sure you wouldn't want to see that shit anyway. Some of your fantasies might be ruined or some shit.

I'm kidding. But back on topic:

Woke up this morning around 10AM, took my normal meds, plus the ones that I've been taking, and so on. I also tossed in another Lortab because the pain that my throat has been causing me has been pretty much unbearable. I go sprawl out on my bed after waking my brother up, waiting on him to get out of the shower so I can take mine.

He finally gets out of the shower, I wait about 10 minutes for the water heater to catch back up and do it's thing, then I head to the bathroom. I feel a little bit woozy, but I shrug it off. Normally what I will do is soak in the tub for a little bit if I'm achy because it helps loosen my muscles. I did that, then transitioned to a shower to wash my hair, face, and body. Well, about midway through my shower, I start feeling really hot, so I turn down the hot water to the point to where I'm nearly freezing myself to death.

I still feel overheated, so I quickly wash my face, my hair, and my body, then get out. I lean over to wrap a towel around my hair, and that's when it hits me. I make a sprint for the toilet (which thankfully isn't too far away) and start puking up the most disgusting stuff I 've ever seen. It looked like a mixture of bile, blood, and blue Gatorade. Then, it only gets worse as time goes on. The mixture starts to change as my heaves get worse. Pretty soon, other than the red spots of blood in my vomit, It's pretty might neon lime green. I take half of a phenergan to ease my stomach without putting me to sleep, and get dressed to head to the doctor.

Went to the doctor around 1PM. Ended up staying there until 6PM. I slept the majority of the time, and I know that my brother was bored as fuck, because he was awake the whole entire time. He acted like he didn't want to be there anyway, which wasn't surprising since I woke him up at 10AM when he had been awake pretty much all night.

The nurse got my temperature, pulse, blood pressure, etc. I'm still running a temperature, but it's far lower than the ones that I've had the rest of the week. Afterward, the doctor came in, and before he looked at my throat, I told him "I'm just going to warn you, it looks really nasty." He had a good chuckle after he looked at it, because "yeah, that's pretty much the best way to describe it."

He ordered some lab work to see if I had Mono or Strep. After the results came back, the Mono test came back negative, and the Strep test was inconclusive due to the fact that my blood count was pretty much normal. On the medical discharge sheet, he wrote Pharyngitis on it, which it's possible that it could be a viral form of it. He told me he would call if the blood work showed up anything in the next few days. He also told me to call if I had any complications.

So, I'm major sick, guys.

I don't know who all was listening to Geht This the other night, but if you heard some spritzing going on in the background, that was me hitting up the chloraseptic spray.

And V3N, You cannot have my vomit to eat. :colbert:
