Stupid Republican idea of the day

Yup. Anyone in this day and age who doesn't see why those terms would be racially offensive is so willfully blind as to be by default a racist. I very much doubt that ol' Zell, given his age and background, is anything but a fossilized relic of a time when such thoughts were mainstream and just fine.

Really? Do you really think that I am, by default, a racist because I can see that both of those terms have legitimate and arguably overwhelming utility outside of a racist context? You know me, at least my board persona, ETF...do I sound like a racist in any normal context?

And this bitch had the nerve to say all this while Shepard's mother sat in the chamber? What the fuck kind of people DO that? What the fuck kind of brain damage are we talking about here?

The kind that makes them angry they're not allowed to just kill fags?

And this bitch had the nerve to say all this while Shepard's mother sat in the chamber?
Congress needs to pass a law that allows a mother in such a situation to carry an assault weapon, with a clip holding 40 rounds.

Michael Steele's diet for the last eight or nine months has consisted largely of shoeleather. Isn't he the one who bussed in Philadelphia street bums to pretend to be Baltimore street bums and hand out his campaign literature on election day back in 2006?

Hey, his was merely the first suitable account I happened upon while Googling. :D

And it matters not in the slightest whether you find that incident trivial, vapid or of no import whatsoever. What does matter is that I don't agree, and that it was based upon my assessment of the likelihood of (apparently sucessful) chicanery on Hillary's part with regard to that incident that I posted the comments that Equipoise listed above.
What matters is that it didn't fucking happen. Did. Not. Happen. Happened? It did not.
Why should he write a correction?
Because it didn't happen.
And besides, denials and lack of forensic evidence does not innocence make
Actually, yes it does. That's the way it works in America. No evidence = presumption of evidence.

Starr said he found no evidence whatsoever. Neither forensic or testimonial. Absolutely no reason to believe it happened. You are making accusations of evidence tampering against Hillary based on nothing. It's beyond asinine to make totally unsupported allegations, and then say that everybody else has to prove they're false.

Let me tell you, if your boy, Starr, couldn't find anything or get anybody to squeal, there was less than nothing to it.

And along those same lines:

Republican Councilman Lee Barnes of Arizona apologized for saying, regarding finances, "Excuse my action but I

Wow, except for cutting taxes and expanding wars, they seem to have no positive agenda at all.

Now, now, they are for global warming, homophobia, and poor people dying from lack of medical care.

But they are consistent. Republican economic policies caused the biggest economic downturn in 80 years? The solution is to do it some more. Being too extreme caused your ass to get kicked? Be even more extreme.

The Senators from Maine might as well switch parties now, obviously.

I understand you're only stating a devil's advocate position, but if she wasn't elected, and she's not on the federal payroll, then federal oversight of her 'position' is really inappropriate.

The continuation of that train of thought is that if she is not elected, not on the Federal payroll, and has not been confirmed by the Senate, she should not be in charge of anything.

Anyways, he might not be crazy, as in "why don't you try this white shirt with very long sleeves for a little while?" crazy, but that was incredibly bizarre.

It was the actions of a horny teenager who thought dad wouldn't miss the credit card. I can only imagine how miserable this guy was over his public persona clashing with his private. Looks like his private (as well as his privates) managed to escape captivity, as it were.

But, considering the folks he worked for, fuck 'em.

http://digg.com/politics/Republican_ad_attacks_President_Obama_s_dog This really seemed like a good idea, guys? Criticizing the money he spent on the dog?

Republicans: Kicking Puppies Since 1994
Republicans: If you thought our last idea was stupid, wait until you see the next one!
DNC's response: "We understand the RNC is frustrated their lack of a coherent message, but going negative on Bo isn't going to help, and neither is blatant hypocrisy."

The only thing dumber than Tony Blair getting the Medal is Rowlings getting it. BTW, your link has no reference to Rowlings whatsoever.

Why should a writer of mediocre fantasy books get a Presidential medal?

There are two links.

As I said, if the reason for Bush not giving her the medal was because he thought her writing was mediocre, that wouldn't be stupid at all. But his reason for not giving her the medal is because of witchcraft, which is stupid.

Trying to keep up here...

The RNC has attacked the Obamas for going on a date in New York:

I hear that Lindsey doesn't have a whole lot of familiarity with pussies. Just saying...

Well, here's a stupid idea I'd like to put out there early, cuz I'm sure it's going to happen. When Crist is gearing up for his senate primary, he'll get teabagged with the fag card.

My brother works for a Seventh Day Adventist hospital in Honolulu, and his boss, while not a Seventh Day Adventist, is a fundamentalist Christian of what sounds like a Palin-esque type stamp: you know, believe and you shall be rich. I can't remember what they're called right now - Prosperity Christians or something like that? Anyway, when one of the many Republican sex scandals broke last year, she explained that Satan specifically targets the really good Christians so as to destroy them politically. She felt terribly sorry for the man. Mind you, this is a sophisticated woman who came from New York City to Honolulu after a high-profile job as a corporate executive, now slumming in paradise because it's a very Christian hospital.

My brother, whose politics are considerably to the left of mine (which are about in line with elucidator's), just tries to keep his head low.

I can only imagine how miserable this guy was over his public persona clashing with his private.

You know, I just can't sympathize. He ran for the office of governor, TWICE. He ran for U.S. House of Representatives, THREE TIMES. If you don't want a public persona, don't fucking run for public office.

And then don't spend your political authority attempting to deny other people equal rights because of their sexual behavior, and publicly condemning other people for their sexual behavior, all the while engaging in the same behavior.
