Stupid Data Packages

I want to buy the Samsung Alias 2. I DO NOT want to pay for the $10 a month data package. The phones still work without the package and I don't think it is fair I have to be forced to buy something I am never going to use. There has to be some way to block the data package and still use the phone. And help whatsoever???

i feel ya on that one, i had to put a block on my grand daughters phone because i did not want her to use any of the data and they forced me to make a choice to pay the money for a data package she wont use or block national access and now she is unable to send pic messages which i pay for. I told verizon so im being forced to pay twice for pic messaging they said if i dont want to pay then i have to have it blocked i was soooo mad.

verizon and at&t have gotten a little out of hand lately, if you would like to voice your concerns you should inform your local State Representative and the FCC. I contact mine all the time to tell them what I think.

if enough people push, someone will have to give,

Well, these mandates aren't going anywhere any time soon. Once customers become intelligent enough to add them on their own, they may stop being forced.

Basically yes, the phone may work without a data plan...but NO a representative cannot activate that phone without one. The system will not permit it.
