The Pew Research Center released a study this week that focused particularly on social news sharing site Reddit.
According to the study, about six percent of all U.S. adults who use the Internet have also used Reddit, with young males between ages 18 and 29 being the leading demographic. To put that into perspective, we can compare Reddit's popularity to competing social platforms from Pew's Feburary 2013 report on the state of social media users.
Tumblr is equally as popular as Reddit, also coming in at 6 percent of adult use mainly consisting of younger people. An impressive 13 percent of adults are using Instagram, while Pinterest takes 15 percent and Twitter takes 16 percent. And finally, a whopping 67 percent of adults are on Facebook. No surprise there, really.
Feel free to check out the full study right on over here. Reddit has insane viral power and is arguably just as useful for breaking news as is Twitter, so if you're not already on it regularly, adding Reddit.com to your bookmarks might be something to consider.
