study history help???

I am a mother of 3 children who are aged 1-5 i would love to go to uni or college and have always wanted to do nursing or midwiffery tho every time something historic comes on the news or tv or i see it in a book or stumble across it in the newspaper ive got to read it. i just simply love it, love learning about it especially brittish history, i am wondering what type of course i could do if any and what would the career prospects be?
