student applying for financial aid?

I am a 17 year old working part time right now. In the fall, I will be applying for colleges/scholarships etc. Is there a limit to my income for me to be eligible to qualify for either scholarships or financial aid? If so, what is the limit?

Merit based scholarships are because of your performance, so no. If you are looking for a Pell Grant, these are income based. With you working, it shouldn't make a difference because you are under 24. In determining financial aid packages, schools look at your parents income, even if you file your own taxes. You are seen as a dependent until the age of 24. Unless you are married, been in the military, or have unusual circumstances (ward of the state, parents/guardians both deceased, declared independence from parents at younger age, etc) what you are making part-time won't really affect your aid unless it's a large amount. The best way to tell what you will qualify for is if your parents make quite a bit of money, expect to receive fewer grants, as they expect your family to contribute more and have to take out loans or pay out of pocket. I would recommend applying for scholarships that aren't based on income and can be considered part of your contribution to your costs.
