Break eggs into a wide, shallow bowl or pie plate; beat lightly with a fork. Stir in sugar, salt, and milk.
Over medium-low heat, heat griddle or skillet coated with a thin layer of butter or margarine.

Place the bread slices, one at a time, into the bowl or plate, letting slices soak up egg mixture for a few seconds, then carefully turn to coat the other side. Soak/coat only as many slices as you will be cooking at one time.

Transfer bread slices to griddle or skillet, heating slowly until bottom is golden brown. Turn and brown the other side. Serve French toast hot with butter and syrup.
Recipe for French toast serves 4.

Prepare eggs any way you like them or if you have a little milk and some syrup or fruit, make French Toast - even if you don't have cinnamon. Or toad in the hole which is where you cut out the center of your bread and then fry the bread with an egg in it.

Potato Pie -
Serves 4

1 Egg
2 lb. Potatoes

1. Peel and grate the potatoes.

2. Beat the egg and mix with the potato. Season with salt and pepper.

3. Put in an ovenproof dish and cook
in a preheated oven at 180*C for about an hour.
It is ready when the top is crisp and slightly browned,
and the centre is soft.
You may want to grate some cheese on top
for extra flavour and cook until it melts and goes slightly brown.
