Stuck gas cap lock on a kawasaki zx6?

I am rebuilding a 97 Kawasaki ZX6. Almost finished, but the lock on the gas tank just will not budge. I have dried it our with compressed air, then sprayed some penetrating Liquid Wrench in it overnight. Still won't move. Does nothing but bend the key. I would take the entire cap off with the 7 screws, but no can do with the lock engaged. HELP!
I just tried the pushing down all the way around as I wiggled the key. It doesn't even seem to be able to engage the tumblers. The lock moves several MM back and forth, but no action.
Yes :) It does have the right key. Can't get it to the dealership without a trailer, and would prefer not to have to spend the kind of money they would charge :(
 
are ya sure it's the right key babe! .. just sayin' is all .. take the tank to a dealer or somethin' maybe. ; )
 
you dont have to take the whole bike to the dealership just remove the gas tank and bring it there.Or ask a locksmith how much to giterdone since a locksmith will come to you.
