The strongest pokemon I've ever owned is a lvl 97 Dragonite that had the nickname Bikini since it was a Dratini It once took out the entire pokemon league with obly using two full restores. This was in Silver, btw

Ok, I got a little secret, the strongest pokemon is

Sableye

And here is why:

it doesn't have a weakness it is a ghost/dark type. Fire, Ele, Grass, Wter, Fly, Poison, Rock, Dragon, Ice, Ground, and Steel does normal damage, Normal attacks can't affect it cause normal attacks on ghost doesn't work, same for fighting, normally fighting does 2x damage on dark but being half ghost, it doesn't work. Bug does well on Dark, but not on ghost, so it cancels out. Psychic can't affect it cause psychic can't affect darkness. Ghost does terrible on dark. and Dark does terrible on dark. So it even has 3 resistance, the only thing is that it walks and and flies like most ghost, thus not having levitate, thus can be hurt by ground attacks.

EDIT: Actually Spiritorab is also a ghost/dark type. Plus it has the higher stats then sable, so it is the strong pokemon ever. Thanks Ladyhinata for telling me that.

I usually use Dark types like Howndoom, Urabreon, Mightyena, and Absol a lot. Only thing about Dark type is that they have sucky attacks (Torment, Erabargo, etc.) And am I the only one who has noticed that Dark is the ONLY type to never have a gym after it.

I also like Psychic, Fire, Electric, Dragon, and Ground.

I once had a Raticate - it was in silver I think - that completely took out the Pokemon league faster then all of my legendaries could. Lol, I trained that thing to like lvl 90-something.

So, I think all of those common Pokemon nobody bothers with can be the strongest if you train them enough.
