Hiya, i'm wanting to take an item ( about 3mm thick) and make a mould of it. From the mould i would like to use some sort of plastic compound to make strong casts to replicate this item.
The cast needs to be able to withstand a bit of resistance, im not saying it should be able to support 10kgs weight but it should be able to withstand maybe 2-3kgs pressure spread across it's length (about 1 inch long)
Can anyone tell me a cheapish way of doing this, including the moulding itself... would a silicon mould be best?, i will need all materials to be available from a hardware or crafts store.
If anyone has experience with this sort of thing id greatly appreciate the help and hopefully names of products i should look at.
