Striking distance - help ?

hey i just saw striking distance on channel 5 and really enjoyed it, but could someone please tell me how he knew the girl that was in the lake by his house, ( the bit where he said "right thats it") he seemed really upset but i didn't know who it was



oh and you can discuss what you thought of the film as well
