Strep Throat fucking blows. This is the first time I've ever had it. I can't eat anything, i can't drink, I have to kill myself to swallow the medications. This shit just sucks. I could just bitch and moan about my throat infection for the next half an hour, but nobody wants to hear about it.

The question is, if you've had it, how bad was your case of it? Or if it's been more than once, how many times have you gotten it?
 
I've never had it and probably never will have it. But, honestly, I think it's your curse, for loving granny fanny. Pat Benatar sucks. :tongue:
 
Honestly, turetz, I thought it may have been the geht this curse. How much bullshit is it that I go to sleep after doing the show, I wake up and BAM. I have death in my throat. Damn you, gehtfuct.

The granny fanny bit is a little overrated. I may have exaggerated with Pat Benatar. I would have laid the pipe to her if I was born in the 70's. I guess her current age is a bit of a stretch. My fault.
 
I have had bad throat problems where I had white and yellow bumps on the back of my throat. It wasn't snot or anything else either, they were visibly bumps. I had this problem and went to school being stupid like I am, just to be taken out of class because I am shivering in an extremely hot class with a hoodie on. The nurse found I had a 104.5 temp. and sent me home, I almost ran another driver off the road because I was too busy shivering when I was driving. Fun times.
 
I used to get strep 3 or 4 times a year when I was in elementary school. I'd be out of school for half a week to a week at a time, with it being about as bad as your current case, except mine typically came with vomiting as a nifty bonus. It even put me in the ER once with a 105.1 temp; I was in fucking shivering convulsions with a headache that would've killed a lesser man.

I cannot argue the point that strep throat sucks ridiculous amounts of ass.
 
I got strep and it didn't do anything to me. Doc said I had it, perscribed some meds, and I never got real sick, other than a headache equaling:flamed: .
 
I've had Strep twice. Each time I am just waiting to die. Temp of 104, can't stay awake for shit. Just want to sleep with the chills, then hot, then cold,then hot etc.

The first time I slept for almost a week. The second time I slept 2 days and made DG take me to the docs becuase I knew what I had. It took eveything in my power to stay awake at the doc's office. They called me back and I told the Dr. I had strep before he even checked me out. He agreed once he was finished checking me over.

It sucks. Atleast for me it does. I swear I am on the verge of dying and with the temps I had, probably not far off.
 
Get it almost every year. It spreads like wild fire during the winter. Although sometimes its hard to distinguish strep from just a really really sore throat combined with other strep throat symptoms. Personally, I like getting it. It's nice to have someone else tell you that you're too sick to go to school once in a while. But if your summer vacation has already started, that sucks big time.
 
Strep throat is one of the only viruses that just kicks my ass. I've only had it a few times, but each time it was epic fevers, can't swallow, near hospital visits, just fucking horrible. I haven't had it in years, and I hope it stays that way. I fucking hate that shit.
 
Strep does blow, a lot. There was one year that I got it 6 times in a 4 month period. I haven't had it as bad in a few years but I still get it once every other year or so.

The whole not being able to swallow thing is a pita but there are a few things you can do to ignore it.

One thing you can do is to use that throat spray stuff that makes your mouth numb, just make sure you get a few squirts to the back of your mouth, it will drip down.

Another thing you can do is suck on ice for a while, eventually the cold water will sooth your throat.

This is the one that I tried out last time I had it and it really worked. Get someone to go to the store and buy you some yogurt (DO NOT get the kind with fruit in it), place said yogurt in the freezer for about 45 min, then take it out and eat it. It will be extremely cold and it's very smooth so there is nothing to catch your throat as it goes down
 
Yeah, I usually have this happen to me once a year around the same time but it was never that bad before. Unlike CL though I can't sleep when I have strep, it keeps me in a crappy half awake state.
 
sickeningly enough... gargle salt water. It brings down the swelling in the throat, at least long enough to get something down and relieve the pain for a few minutes.

I can't do it, cause it makes me puke, but many doctors have told me to do that when I had strep/mono.
