my gf got strep twice in a month, her dr suggested i get a test (i felt fine). my culture showed up as a light growth so they put me on antibiotics. 2 weeks after i was done with those i got the culture done again and this time it was negative on strep. however, 3 days later i got a serious throat ache, 102 fever, swollen lymph nodes, some drainage. the dr prescribed z pack thinking i don't have strep again due to the drainage not being a regular strep symptom. i'm worried the first case of light growth was normal for me and then when i got on antibiotics and it killed it, i got sick again because the strep came back. what does anyone think?
