Streetglow for interior of car help?

So I dont really get how the StreetGlow neon works.. are they on anytime that your car is on or can you switch them on and off? I'am wanting to some by the door handles on the inside of my car and by the feet for the driver and passenger, what would I get like 9" neons for the feet area and like 3 inch LED for the door handles? Im confused any website explaining would be nice
