Streaming on E61

Hi All,

I searched and searched the existing forums but can't seem to find an answer to this question:

When I am on a website and click on a Real media link it opens Real Player, and it says it's opening then loading, but it never loads and I get a timeout...am I doing something wrong? I have yet to get a streaming link working in Real Player (I'm using WiFi to do it).

Use your wap browser (Services) and go to news.bbc.co.uk. Click on the Video Headlines link. You will be given 3 options to view. 2 streaming (with different qualities) and the last one is a download (you can download the video to your device). I've tried it and it works with edge and wifi. Not always successful though...
 
Im using ORB to stream my own music and movies and live tv from my home PC to my phone. On my home wifi network it works perfectly. When im at my moms or at work I cant get it to get passed the "loading" part. Not sure whats up.
 
I wasn't able to get the streaming to work, though the video that downloaded worked just fine. Still have yet to be able to use Real Player on my phone to hear a live radio station on the Internet.

Check your access point proxy... Is it defined? Sometimes proxy won't let you stream... I'm with Cingular, I removed the proxy for wap.cingular.com.

Another thing you want to check is the connection settings in your real player. Make sure it's what you want....

If you have cingular you could also stream cingular video. cingularvideo.cingular.com. e-series.org just published a blog on it http://www.e-series.org/archives/84 Make sure you have unlimited media net..
 
very good streaming info there...worked like a charm...
just make sure you go into your realplayer settings and define the access point first. Only irratating thing is that it doesnt allow you the "always ask" selection, so you have to change it from hot spot to hot spot or gprs, but otherwise very stable connection while using wifi imho.
