Anyone have any idea of what would cause strange sensation of heat and/or water on calf. I find myself trying to wipe off the wetness only to find that there is nothing there. Skin is not warm to touch. It's not painful--just bizarre. It comes and goes. I'm figurings it's a nerve issue. Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks!

your right, its more than likely some type of nerve issue. this could be stemming from possibly anywhere along your cord or to a specific spinal nerve. what you are feeling are called parasthesias. it wouldn't hurt to bring this up to your primary who can send you for a full spinal mri(the quickest and best way to just evaluate your spinal areas). it could be a totally isolated spinal nerve thats casuing this or like i mentioned above, something that is actually affecting your cord in some way. i have actual cord damage and also a c spine mess, and the stuff that i "feel' like something is atually 'happening' to my body like you have,is almost always from the spinal cord stuff. spinal cord issues generally will present with some really strange 'perceptionary' types of feelings or sensations much more often than spinal nerve stuff would be.

do you suffer with any neck or back pain at all? are you having feelings or anything rather odd happening anywhere else? that MRI and eval by your doc really would help to at least rule something in or out as a possible problem area. at least you would know where this may be stemming from. things like bone spurs or herniations or other possible things people just can get in the spinal areas could be causing some level of compression upon your cord or directly upon a spinal nerve. it just needs some further looking into. just see your primary about the neuro eval and MRI. at least you will know if there is indeed anything wrong within the spinal areas, and thats alot to just rule out or in. good luck, and please keep me posted on just what you find out. Thank you for the information and taking the time to respond. No, I don't seem to have any other issues going on other than having bouts of high blood pressure and high cholesterol. No pain/discomfort in my neck or back. I'm fairly active and am in decent shape. I've never had any king of MRI tests done and am not good about getting to the doctor. Do you think I would have any other symptom if it were related to my spinal cord? I guess I'll mention it next time I'm in.
I'm sorry to hear of your spinal cord issues. It must be very difficult for you. I almost feel guilty posting when I have no pain when there are so many folks out there are really suffering. Thank you and God Bless!
