I have non-allergic rhinitis and occasional asthma. I only have asthma flares a few times a year and they are controlled with Qvar and/or albuterol. Using Claritin keeps the allergies in check, but I seem to be feeling the asthma with the recent weather changes.
I've never had a problem at night, but lately I've been awakened as my body takes a deep breath. It's not as if I'm out of breath or having trouble breathing (that I am aware of). It's strange -- the only way I can describe it is that my body is taking this deep breath without me consciously doing it.
Does anyone understand what I'm saying and if so, is this connected with the asthma? I'm going to use my inhaler before bed tonight to see if it still occurs.
