Strange locked keypad issue

I was playing around with my E50 in the keypad locked mode (to get more comfortable with the joystick and keypad) and noticed something funny. Normally, any key pressed will simply show the message: Press unlock and then *

The screen typically does not light up unless you press the power button, and the message says the same thing.

But playing around with the keypad, I realized that pressing 08 not only lit up the keypad but also the digits 08 showed up on screen! I couldn't do anything further - it would just revert to the message above.

Anyone know what is going on??

No idea about 08, but 999, 911 and 112 can always be typed, even when the keypad is locked.

Yeah, emergency numbers can be dialed, but after pressing 08 nothing else works. So it doesn't appear to be a dialing code. Wasn't sure if it was some other code or just a glitch in the FW.

I tried it again - this time quickly pressing the Send button and it said "Attempting to dial emergency call." So apparantly 08 is an emergency call somewhere.
