...people can see them. What are they? When I was younger I had these reoccurring phenomenons or whatever. As a small child I remember sitting up at night seeing this bright flash of light that would light up the whole room. Like a camera flash. I lived out in the country so the outside was completely black and we did not own any cameras. A few years later it happened again but at a different house. I was on the second floor. Later on in my late teens it happened again but this time someone was with me. They also saw the flash of light. Actually we were both kind of freaked out about it. My room was in the back of the house. The yard was cut off by the garage and no one was parking or leaving at that time. It wasn't a flash of light like from outside because it illuminated the whole room, like the light source came from inside not out. The strangeness about the whole thing was it has happened before. Exactly the same each time and now that I knew other people could see it made it even more real. What could this be? Each time was at a different location. From country to small city. If anyone has any answers please let me know.

Well, one possible explanation is that you hallucinated these flashes - and the other person who was with you was excited by the whole idea and imaged he saw it too - or lied about it....
Actually we hallucinate constantly - check out the "blind spot" in our retina and how we 'fill it in' with hallucinations every waking moment.
However - I can also imagine what you saw because I saw the same thing once when I was at sea. It was a totally dark night, we were doing something illegal - the rest of the crew was working at their jobs, but I was standing upright - and suddenly there was a flash of light in the air above us.
I waited a 1/2 second and then slapped the skipper on his shoulder and said - did you see that? And everything stopped. Yes, they said they'd all seen it.... and yet they didn't react to it when it flashed (for me).
We sat in the darkness and waited - for what - we didn't know. Nothing happened and we went back to our tasks. Anyway - that always stuck in my mind. Did the other crew see that light flash I "saw" - or were they just overwhelmed by my suggestion???
