strange eggs(?) in garden pond?

Hello

We have deliberately unmaintained pond in our garden which is home to a family of frogs. Both this year and last I found something strange floating in the pond, they're probably best described as like deflated ping pong balls. I have only found a couple and presume they're either eggs or plant pods of some variety. They haven't done any harm, I'm just curious as to what they are.
