Hello everyone,
during the last months I suffered from dehydration to varying extents. I drink enough (2.5-3l / day) and I don't seem to have any obvious diseases such as diabetes because complete blood counts have been taken twice (the last one was just two weeks ago). Two different MDs told me that there is nothing they can do, but all they did was looking at the blood tests...
Searching the Internet, I found that breathing through your mouth can cause dehydration, so used Scotch tape for my lips before I went to sleep for several days, but that didn't change anything, either.
I then "discovered" a study that linked high-protein diets to dehydration in athletes, so I reduced the (much too high) amount of protein I was eating to a reasonable (RDA) level. But, needless to say, it didn't change anything.
My symptoms are:
* thirst
* dry throat & lips
* yellowish, smelly urine (I can't identify what it smells like)
* sometimes fatigue
Additional information:
* I'm 25, male, thin (but not too thin)
* I don't drink or smoke
* I don't take any medication (but have taken Isotretinoin and and SRRI in the past)
* other diseases I have are a dust mite allergy and Meibomian Gland Dysfunction
* I don't sweat much because I live in a cool climate and don't exercise right now
* I never had these symptoms before
* for a while I drank 3-4l of water per day, but that didn't change the symptoms
* room climate in my apartment: 18 degrees C / 64 degrees F, relative moisture about 50%
Any advice will be much appreciated!
