Strange Channels in Guide (Remapped)

Can anyone explain why channels 471, 472, 473, and 474 are showing up in the guide on my HD receivers?

They are shown as:

471 CBSHE with "CBS Programming" on the guide
472 CBSHW ditto
473 FOXHE with "FOX Programming" on the guide
474 FOXHW ditto

Do you think that ExpressVU could switch one of the "Extra" FOX feeds to show us the new SPEED HD package from Daytona speed week??

Those channels are just re-maps of existing channels to gather all the NFL coverage into one area of the guide. They don't use any additional bandwidth and I expect they will disappear soon now that the NFL season is over.
 
They're likely just mirrors of the FOX and CBS feeds for sporting events. It just groups the sporting events into the 400 range of channels.

Well, what ever they are I still wouldn't mind having them replaced with Speed HD!

But I suppose that's too much to ask of Bell!

I'm told that Shaw in Winnipeg has added it to their HD lineup.

If you read the official Speed HD thread you would know it has been uplinked on BEV, so it's likely just a matter of time before it appears. Watch for it on channel 871.

BTW, those channel's you see are not taking up additional bandwidth. They can remap the same channel in the guide as many times as they like, anywhere they want.

I searched for Speed HD and I never really found an "official" thread but thanks for the information, Mike.

And it's a good thing those channels don't take up any additional bandwidth otherwise BEV would have to compress stuff even more :(....
