I just installed a set V&H straight shots on my C50. I love them, but my wife is now wearing ear plugs because their so loud. Is their anything I can do to the baffles to quiet them a little bit. I'm not going to take them off.

I don't know where you get your info, but yes STRAIGHT SHOTS do come with baffles. You CAN adjust them or remove them. I talked to the local bike store and they told me you can wrap the baffles with fiberglass wrap and it will quiet them down, but it also burn out over time. Don't matter now my wife said she could learn to live with the noise. She know I like it, Now I call that Love...:leg2:

You could make a couple lollipops to place about 4 inches from the end of the pipes. You can turn them to tune them for more or less noise, depending on the angle.

I wanted to keep my wife happy and make my bike sound good. So I bought a package of muffler packing. Removed the baffles and cut a section of packing (roll of fiberglass) about half the length of the baffle and wrapped one layer around the baffle. Installed the baffle back into the pipe (that was a battle). Now the pipes sound GREAT without the high pitch sound, more of a rumble now. Wifes happy and I am too.. With the added back pressure the bike runs better now than before. Rode 270 miles SUNDAY, my cousin was on his HD road king, said he could hear my C50 over his bike..8)
