so you're saying THEIR racist decision isn't enough for you to go out of your way to not shop there?

no it's not.

wtf. honestly, either learn what it is you're talking about or stfu.

And you're an idiot if you think that you can boil down such a complex matter to a skating rink

You are the one stating that markets are so easy to manipulate that an expert or two can control them. We are the ones saying they are so hopelessly complex that no central individual or group of individuals could efficiently control them.

John Stossel

The same guy who tried comparing a skating rink to the complexity of the modern economy.

Thanks but no thanks.

it was a metaphor. he went on to expand.

I can't believe we need to have this discussion.

His point is exactly the opposite you stupid fuck.

Even something as simple as a skating rink cannot be adequately controlled without putting a damper on participation, therefore a system even more complicated - like say, a politicoeconomic system - will be even further restrained.

Crap, is there a transcript of this thing anywhere? You may be right, I was actually thinking of something Ron said.

But I'm sure Rand's argument contains something similar, the entire argument is that the CRA wasn't needed.

Ron Paul said that the Civil War was unnecessary. You're probably thinking of that. Now carry on with your uselessness.

Not its that the portion that forces private businesses to desegregate is unconstitutional.

He agrees that institutional segregation and racism was unconstitutional and that the CRA was successful in eliminating it. He is very happy about that part. Its the other part he doesnt like.

It's an awful metaphor

You cannot accurately relate government regulation to one person giving out vocal instructions to select individuals. It makes no sense because that's not how government regulation works.

And I thought the assumption was white people were always articulate, and black people inarticulate.

paraphrased:
"I don't know what the fuck I'm talking about, so look at me standing over here waving"

This guy just keeps digging his own grave

WASHINGTON – Taking another unconventional stand, Kentucky's Republican Senate nominee Rand Paul criticized President Barack Obama's handling of the Gulf oil spill Friday as anti-business and sounding "really un-American."

Other Republicans have criticized the administration's handling of the oil spill, but few have been so vocal in defending BP, the company responsible for the deep well and offshore rig that exploded last month, killing 11 workers and spewing millions of gallons of oil.

promoting tolerance and discouraging racism is a worthy goal of the government in my mind
