STORY QUESTION (Writing)?

I'm writing a story about a girl discovering she's a witch. I know how she will find out she is one (by accidentally reading a spell in a spell book because she mistaked it for a cook book), but I don't know how to start the story. :(
I've been thinking and thinking, but nothing has popped into my head. Help?
 
She is attending a new school and she is taking a cooking class. She has no idea how to cook so she thought she would practice at home first. She looked desperately for a cook book and found a dusty old one hidden away in the attic. etc... good luck , hope this helps.
 
try a new story and ask god to help you he will if you ask just try give god a try just may be you will find what you are looking for in the bible
 
I suggest you try this:

She is at home with her mum and they're baking something (you can decide, a cake? something they haven't made before) then while her mum is mixing or something she asks our main character to read the next steps to her and then something happens and our main character finds out she is a witch. (You could have her mum looking the other way if you don't want her to know)

I would try freewriting. Just start writing the beginning over and over again until you think you are onto something interesting. Then continue the story from there.
