Guides ruin games in 95% of cases.

I like them, I end up getting bored without it since they put little secrets in and it takes me forever to get anywhere because I'm wasting so much time walking into everything and sniffing around everything looking for the secrets that in alot of cases aren't there, really drags it out with no return.

I am playing two concurrent games of zelda right now. My wife's game has 15 hours of play, mine has 7.5 and I am a pretty good distance ahead of her

Except for collecting things. I find it very very teedious to go around trying to find all the hidden items of a game. It's alot easier if there's a guide. However for dungeons/bosses I find it better not to read the guide unless I really get stuck and need to be pointed in the right direction.
