The downside of being in the basement, on the side of the house where I am is their dog. x.x And I walked around the area a couple of times and I swear...every dog barks at me. X_x They're all evil little dogs...espcially this one that lives in a red house- Damn that dog...And the pitbull down the street that tried to bite off my hand the other day...x.x

Well, I haven't seen any fireworks yet, but since we're talking about dogs I'll tell you guys this story. This happened 6 hours ago.

Me and one of my friends were riding our bikes on a road nearby. We see this dog on the side of the road. Some mutt. It was growling and barking and stuff at me and my friend so we just keep going. We were almost to the main road and I didn't want it to get run over, but we had no choice but to let it be. I called my mom up and I told her and she just told me to stay away from it, she'll call for someone.

So we keep going and we ride onto the busy, main road. We keep going and we're like less than quarter of a mile away. I hear screeching tires and look back and the car stopped and I was like "Oh my God, don't tell me that dog got run over."

We couldn't really make out what was going on cause it started raining and stuff, but we didn't want to go back and see the supposedly dead dog. We waited for the car to leave and we headed back.

That dog might've had rabies, it might've not.

I'm just thankful we didn't see anything disturbing. Actually, I kind of regret not going back to see if it got killed or not. Now I'm curious.

We're lucky (?) enough to live close to a sports stadium, where celebrations including fireworks are a regular, almost nightly, occurrence throughout the year. Much nicer than firecrackers, which are just big booms with no awe inspiring sparklies.

There's a state law banning fireworks/firecrackers outside of pre-registered sites, but that doesn't stop the occasional popper going off, setting all the local car alarms aloud.

Have a friend who lives in Detroit. She says that on July 4 and New Year's Eve, folks go out and shoot off their guns to "celebrate". Idjits.
